Another July 4th weekend up at the river. A lot of relaxing, visiting with family, hot weather, a lot of mosquitoes, swimming, a very swollen river, dollar store trips for the perfect treasure, dinner at Lost Vega's, seeing Toy Story 3, getting new Keen's at the Crazy Loon, a very rainy parade, foggy fireworks and a lot of fun!
I heart toasted marshmellows! |
A lot of relaxing with daddy. |
Reading the first Laura Ingalls Wilder book together. A great summer read on the hammock.
Finally finding a shallow enough place to swim on the swollen river.
perfect
I love smoke bombs! The girls loved the smoke and mommy loved the smell.
Flowers picked for mommy from the girls.
Laughing Cow cheese makes the best sandwich glue!
Thank you Anna...
Fourth of July corn on the cob.
Wine from 5 Senses in Phillips...my new favorite store!
Jeff and I dominated Aunt Merry and Ken in Cribbage!
The old hunting shack road...yep, we are trespassing.
A lot of great memories here...I can't believe it's still here. Not much has changed. Dad wouldn't have approved of the AC.
The clearing dad completed right before he got sick. He and mom's hopes and dreams faded of having their own cabin...
Dad put in a lot of hours making this road. It has really grown up and has been well maintained.
An old tree stand...
A lone buttercup along the road...I loved buttercups growing up.
I definitely felt dad's presence walking on the old property today. He would be proud how well maintained it is and there are even food plots.
Visiting Grandpa Al. Dad has a lot of good company...I didn't know how popular this part of the cemetery was...
A quote from the movie Vision Quest...I wrote it down after watching the movie during my mid teen years and it was meant to be on dad's gravestone.
Ahh....back home and finally getting bathed. Home feels good.
